Local AI

Local AI

We live in a world where every click, every question, every file you upload gets sent somewhere else. Some server in another country processes your private thoughts, your work documents, your personal conversations.

That's not how it should be.

Team Aquin believes your AI assistant should work for you, not for data collectors. That's why Aquin comes with something most AI tools don't offer: complete local processing.

Your computer becomes the AI. Nothing leaves your machine. Ever.

The problem with current AI tools

Open ChatGPT or any AI assistant today. Type a question. Hit enter.

Your message just traveled thousands of miles to a server farm, got processed by machines you don't control, and the response traveled back. Your conversation? Stored somewhere else. Your files? Analyzed by systems you can't see.

Every. Single. Time.

We thought this was unnecessary. Why send your data across the internet when your computer is perfectly capable of running AI models itself?

Aquin: your AI runs at home

Here's how local AI works in Aquin. It's simple.

Go to Settings. Click on "Local Models." You'll see a list of AI models you can download. Pick one that fits your computer's capabilities. Maybe you want a lightweight model for quick answers, or maybe your machine can handle something more powerful.

Click download. The model downloads directly to your computer. No account needed, no permission required, no data sent anywhere.

Once downloaded, select it from the dropdown menu. That's it. Your AI assistant now runs entirely on your machine.

Ask questions. Upload files. Take screenshots. Run code. Generate charts.

Everything happens right there on your computer. Your internet could disconnect completely, and Aquin would keep working perfectly.

What this means for you

Your private documents stay private. Your work conversations remain yours. Your late-night questions about random topics never leave your desk.

No one tracks what you ask. No company builds a profile from your questions. No government can request your AI conversation history because there isn't any stored anywhere else.

Your 80-year-old grandmother can ask about her medical symptoms without worrying about insurance companies knowing. Your 7-year-old can ask homework questions without creating a permanent record somewhere.

Students working on sensitive research. Lawyers reviewing confidential cases. Doctors discussing patient information. Artists protecting creative ideas.

Everyone deserves privacy.

It just works

We made local AI simple because complicated privacy tools help no one.

The floating input box looks the same whether you're using local models or cloud models. Same shortcuts, same interface, same drag-and-drop functionality.

The only difference? Complete privacy.

Some people think local AI means slower responses or limited capabilities. That's old thinking. Modern AI models run beautifully on regular computers. Many are faster than waiting for internet responses.

Your computer, your AI, your privacy.

The way it should be.

Still need cloud AI sometimes?

Use both. Aquin lets you switch between local and cloud models anytime. Private work stays local. General questions can use cloud models if you want faster responses.

You choose. Every time.
