Privacy-First Design: Aquin is designed with privacy at its core. We store only minimal account information necessary to provide our service. All your training data, conversations, model configurations, RAG system data, memory layers, and content you work with are stored locally on your device and never transmitted to Aquin's servers. When you choose to use third-party LLM services or download models from Hugging Face, you connect directly to those providers - we act only as a client interface.
what information do we collect and store?
Information We Store (Cloud - Supabase)
Aquin stores only the following minimal information in our cloud database:
- Your name, email address, and profile picture
- Secure authentication tokens managed by Supabase
We do not store your training data, datasets, model configurations, conversations, floating assistant logs, RAG system data, memory layers, or any content you work with. All of this data remains on your device.
Information We Access But Don't Store
Aquin accesses the following information locally on your device to provide functionality, but this data never leaves your device unless you choose to send it to third-party services:
Training Data: All datasets and training data you use are processed and stored locally on your device. Never sent to Aquin servers.
Floating Assistant Logs: All conversation logs and interactions with the floating assistant are stored locally on your device for formatting and training purposes.
Model Configurations: Your LLM configurations, fine-tuning parameters, and trained models remain on your device.
RAG System Data: All RAG embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval data are stored locally on your device.
Memory Layers: Memory layers for third-party LLMs are stored locally on your device to provide contextual awareness.
Conversations: All chat history is stored locally on your device, not on Aquin servers.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Razorpay. Aquin does not collect, store, or have access to your credit card numbers, CVV codes, or other sensitive payment credentials. We only receive subscription status confirmations from Razorpay.
how do we use the information we collect?
We use the minimal information we store (name, email, profile picture) solely to:
- Provide and authenticate your Aquin account
- Send important service updates and announcements
- Provide customer support when you contact us
- Protect against fraudulent or unauthorized use
We do not use your data for training AI models, marketing, selling to third parties, or any purpose beyond providing the Aquin service.

Local Training and Processing
When you train models or use local features:
- All your training data stays on your device
- Models are trained and stored locally
- Floating assistant logs are formatted and stored locally
- RAG system data and embeddings remain on your device
- Memory layers are stored locally
- No internet connection required for local training
- Complete privacy and offline functionality
- Aquin servers never receive any of your training content
Third-Party LLM Services
When you choose to use third-party LLM services:
- Your queries are sent directly from your device to the third-party provider
- Aquin acts only as a client interface - we do not intercept, store, or process this data
- Memory layers for context are maintained locally but content is sent to third-party services
- Data transmission is encrypted
- Subject to the third-party provider's privacy policy and data practices
Hugging Face Model Downloads
When you browse and download models from Hugging Face:
- Models are downloaded directly from Hugging Face to your device
- Aquin facilitates the connection but does not store or process model data
- Subject to Hugging Face's privacy policy

Important: Aquin is a local-first LLM training platform that facilitates your connection to third-party services. We do not collect, store, or have access to your training data, datasets, model configurations, floating assistant logs, RAG system data, memory layers, or conversations. When you use third-party LLM services or download models from Hugging Face, data goes directly from your device to those providers - we do not intercept or monitor this data. You are responsible for reviewing the privacy policies of third-party services you connect to through Aquin.

Aquin does not share your data because we don't collect it. However, when you use Aquin, data may flow directly from your device to:
Hugging Face: When you browse and download models, requests go directly to Hugging Face - see huggingface.co/privacy
Anthropic (Claude): When you use Claude models, your queries and memory layer context go directly to Anthropic's servers - see anthropic.com/privacy
Other Third-Party LLM Providers: When you use other external LLM services, your queries and memory layer context go directly to those providers. Review their respective privacy policies.
Supabase: We use Supabase for authentication and storing minimal account data (name, email, profile picture) - see supabase.com/privacy
You can avoid all external data transmission by training and using local models exclusively. We never sell your personal information to third parties.
data security and retention
We implement strong security measures to protect the minimal account information we store:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
- Secure authentication and access controls
- Regular security audits and updates
- Local processing minimizes data exposure
We retain your account information (name, email, profile picture) while your account is active. Upon account deletion, this information is permanently removed. Your training data, models, conversations, and all local data are stored only on your device under your control.

children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it immediately.
