Privacy Policy
Last updated on November 30, 2025
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from users of Aquin and how we use it.
Overview
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to services provided by Aquin ("we", "us", or "Aquin") and our application "Aquin" (the "App" or "Services") that you can download and use on your device. This Policy explains what information we collect from users of our Services (a "user", "you", or "your"), including information that may be used to personally identify you ("Personal Information") and how we use it.
We encourage you to read the details below. This Policy applies to any user of our Aquin application.
Privacy-First Design
Aquin is designed with privacy at its core. Most of your data processing happens locally on your device and never leaves your computer when using local AI models.
What Information Do We Collect?
Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information: To create an account and enable certain features, we require your username, email, and authentication credentials.
- Payment Information: If you subscribe to our Pro plan ($20/month), payment processing is handled entirely by our payment processor. Aquin does not collect, store, or have access to your credit card numbers, CVV codes, or other sensitive payment credentials. Only basic billing information (such as subscription status) is shared with us.
- User Content: When using cloud-based AI models (like Claude Sonnet 4 & 4.5), your messages and files may be processed by third-party AI providers. When using local AI models, this content stays entirely on your device.
- Voice Data: When you use voice features, audio is processed locally on your device or sent to speech processing services, depending on your settings.
- Browsing History: When you connect your browser via MCP (Model Context Protocol), Aquin can access your browsing history to provide better context for AI responses. This data is only accessed when you enable this feature and can be processed locally or sent to cloud AI models depending on your configuration.
- Google Services Data: When you connect Google services via MCP (Model Context Protocol), Aquin can access your Google Calendar events, Gmail messages, Google Drive files, and Google Meet information. This data is only accessed when you enable these integrations and authorize access through OAuth. The data can be processed locally or sent to cloud AI models depending on your configuration.
Local Data Processing
Files you upload, screenshots you capture, and browser tabs you access are processed locally on your device when using local AI models. This data does not leave your computer unless you specifically use cloud-based AI features.
How Do We Use The Information We Collect?
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver and improve Aquin and your user experience
- Process your AI queries using local or cloud-based models
- Enable voice input/output features
- Access and process files, screenshots, and browser tabs as requested
- Provide customer support and respond to your questions
- Protect against fraudulent or unauthorized use
- Send important updates about the service
- Access and analyze your browsing history (when MCP browser connection is enabled) to provide contextual AI assistance
- Access and integrate your Google services (Calendar, Gmail, Drive, Meet) when you authorize these connections to provide contextual AI assistance
Data Processing: Local and Cloud

- Regular security audits and updates
- Local processing minimizes data exposure
We retain your account information while your account is active. Local data processing means most of your content stays on your device under your control. We may retain aggregated, de-identified usage data to improve our services.
